In Japanese, "Kami" means paper and "Otoshi" means drop. As the product name advised, this dripper only has one small and one big ring to fix the filter, so you can see how coffee drip naturally from the filter.
The main feature of this dripper is the "no wall" design so you can monitor the real time blooming and brewing situation and adjust your pouring. When we use drippers that have wall, we usually pour certain amount of water for blooming but we can't see how water flow and whether the water amount is too large or too small. For this Kamiotoshi Dripper, we can get more information by watching the condition of filter and coffee ground. That help us to give "just amount" of water for blooming.
This dripper is also handcrafted by Yamanaka-shikki, so the wood that used on this dripper is very durable. To know more about Yamanaka-Shikki, please see here.
