In the form of Nel Drip, but the cloth filter is made of washi fiber instead of flannel.

Washi (和紙) is the paper which used Japanese local ingredient and processed by traditional method. And the process of making washi fiber is cutting washi sheets into long strips first, then weave into threads to keep them dry, soften them, sun-dry them and proceed to the finishing process. For the final step, these washi fibers will be used to make the cloth filter as you seen.

Washi is famous for its good air and water permeability and so does the washi fiber cloth. In my experience, this cloth filter keeps bright acidity and sweetness pretty well which makes a nice fit with light roast coffee.

Washi fiber cloth is also easier to take care compares to flannel. So don't feel pressure and take a try.

You can clean and reuse the filter until you feel it started to clog or the tastes in the cup became different than usual. Then you will need to change the filter. You can find the replacement filter here.

Handling instruction:

Before first time use, soak cloth filter in hot water for three minutes then wring tightly to make it dry before start brewing.

After used, take the cloth filter out from the handle and throw out coffee ground. Rinse the filter and remove the coffee ground that left, don't rub it hardly. When finish washing, wring and let it dry naturally.

Material: Washi fiber cloth (filter), stainless steel (handle)
